Real photos · playable local preview

Look. Guess. Discover.

Playable local preview · 5 different areas per game, from a finite catalogue of 18 sample areas and 109 real panoramas · solo progress is saved in this browser only

  1. Look around.Drag the photograph to turn your view. Zoom in to inspect clues.
  2. Move along the street. Each directional arrow drawn on the photograph walks to the linked real photo it points at, and the new photo opens on the direction you were already looking. With the photograph focused you can also press W to move forward and S to move back, or hold Alt with or . Movement only pauses while a round’s result is shown; choosing the next location opens it again. Return to start in the toolbar goes back to this round’s starting photograph, whichever photo along the route that is, and resets the view when you are already standing there. Each move loads a real photograph from this finite preview catalogue of 18 reviewed sample areas and 109 real panoramas.
  3. Choose your timer in the Solo menu.Walk the linked photographs and look around as much as you like; the clock is the only limit. A round timer of 30, 60, 90 or 180 seconds starts with the first photograph a round actually shows and never pauses, so stepping along the street, retrying a photo or reloading the page cannot add time, and a game you resume keeps its original deadline. With no timer you can take as long as you like.
  4. Guess, or skip honestly.Drag the guess map, zoom in, and tap to place a pin. Confirm to see the result and then choose Next location. Skip round scores 0 points and 0 round XP and reveals the source location; a round whose timer runs out also scores 0 points and 0 round XP, even if a pin was placed. Nothing advances on its own, so you can study the result for as long as you like.
  5. Track it in the Passport.Finishing all five rounds records the game on this device: a guessed round earns 20 XP plus 1 XP for each full 250 points, and finishing the fifth round adds a 50 XP bonus. The Passport shows lifetime XP and level, badges, best and average score, closest guess, a UTC play streak and the latest 20 games with their round breakdowns. A skipped or timed-out round still counts as a played round, but never as points. You can export the record as JSON or clear it after an explicit confirmation.

Fresh starts and resuming. Opening or reloading this page starts a fresh random free game, not the one you left. Your most recent previous game — free or daily — is kept in this browser instead: choose Resume previous game in the Solo menu and confirm to return to the same location and round, with your pin, the rounds already played and its original deadline, replacing the game in progress. Only one previous game is kept, so a more recent played game can replace it, and blocked or full browser storage can mean there is nothing to resume.

Daily challenge. The Solo menu holds one daily for each UTC day: the same five-round plan for everyone, played in Moving mode with 90 seconds a round. One attempt is tracked per browser and device, saved in this browser with its progress and XP. It never opens on its own: it starts or resumes only when you choose it in the Solo menu, so a reload or a later visit starts a free game instead. There is no online account sync and no ranked leaderboard.

Keyboard: Tab focuses controls; Enter/Space activates them. Arrow keys look around the focused photo or move the map pin. Shift+Arrow pans the guess map. Alt+Left/Right or W/S step between street photos when the photo is focused. Escape closes dialogs or the map. The Solo game and passport button in the top bar opens the same panel on desktop and mobile.

Game settings

Switching the reference view keeps your solo game intact: the unscored landscape pauses it and awards nothing, and returning to the street game resumes the same round, photograph, pin and deadline.

Your device’s reduced-motion preference is always respected.

Sound is off. Your current game, your most recent previous game, any daily attempt you have started, and your settings are stored in this browser only. There is no account, no sync and no upload, and clearing progress is a separate, confirmed action.

Leave this view?

Your current game is kept on this device, along with the one before it. Opening the game again starts a fresh random free game without asking, and Resume previous game in the Solo menu brings the previous game back after a confirmation, on the same location, round, pin and original deadline. Starting a new game replaces the current game — it always asks for confirmation first — and keeps the older previous game; your saved passport is kept.

Solo game and passport

One solo game is five rounds in five distinct areas, drawn from the local preview catalogue of 18 reviewed sample areas. Free play prefers areas you have played least recently and avoids reopening on the previous game’s opening photograph when it can. Opening the game always starts a fresh random free game, and your most recent previous game waits in this browser: Resume previous game returns it after a confirmation, on the same location, round, pin and original deadline, and replaces the game in progress. The daily challenge below starts or resumes only when you choose it. Game progress stays in this browser. An account is not required.
